How to start working out

Happy Tuesday !

Is it just me or time goes by sooo fast !!

So I realized that I’ve been putting more music that talking about fitness ! Haha That kind of goes against the blog name doesn’t it ! :P

So today i decided to dedicate a post JUST to fitness !

I mentioned before that I used to workout 6 days a week. That slowly diminished to 3, then none.

Once you’ve stopped workout out consistently it’s always hard to get back into it. I decided to give some tips that helped me get back into the groove of things. This might help motivate you or not even help you at all. I’m just letting you guys know what helped me and hopefully can help you as well! Smile 

1- Make a calendar and plan your workouts : This always helps me out ! If I have a plan and can cross things off, there’s no way I can’t do it!

2- Go to bed at the same time every night and wake up at the same time : This might help with the next tip ! You might also feel more energized and not to tired to workout !

3- Workout in the morning : This is my most crucial tip (for me anyways). When I workout in the morning I feel much more awake, I feel like I accomplish more during the day. Plus your workout’s done, so in the evening you can do whatever you please ! Smile

3- Sign up for a race or fitness course : It’s always more motivating when you have an actual goal ! It might also help to sign up for a course or class. For example, a 6 week yoga class might help you get out the door and sweat! I love group fitness because you get to know the teacher and some of the students, it’s like a mini social outing, but you’re working out at the same time!

4- Track your progress : It’s always more encouraging when your seeing progress! The more you see progress, the changes are you’ll want to workout more and increase your intensity !

5- Write down your objectives and see were you’re at each month (or week) : Again, it helps when you have something that’s writing down. It will help you remember what you’re aiming for and you’ll be able to know if you’re getting close to reaching you’re goals and/or re-evaluate.

6- Buy some gear : This one is my fave!! Haha Buying something new always makes me want to try it out! Smile Especially running shoes, I just want to go straight out the door and jog away !

Hope this helps ! Smile But remember, little steps. Getting fit is not all or nothing. You can start by walking a couple days a week, then maybe running. If you miss a day, it’s no big deal, just go at it the next day or the next day ! Smile 

Point is, if you’re struggling, don’t get discourage! No matter how long or how hard the important this is that you’ll get there <3

Books, Eats & Puppies

Look what I found at the grocery store ?!??!

I’m so excited to try Love Grown Foods! For the longest time, they weren’t available in Canada (or I was just bling and couldn’t find them).

Unfortunately, I didn’t buy any because our fridge already looked like this….

This is what happens when were both to hungry and I had an extremely determined meal plan ! So this week I’ve been eating LOTS of salads and veggies ! Smile

I’ve been loving avocados this week. One of my favorite new discoveries is Kim’s Dreamy Creamy Avocado Dressing!

It’s a mixture of Avocado, dill, garlic, lemon juice and water. Sooo good ! I was actually really surprised I ended up liking it so much.

I recently bought The Beauty Detox Solution and Clean Food. I’m almost done reading The Beauty Detox Solution and so far I really like it. She has a really interesting view on nutrition ! It’s worth reading. I love that she doesn’t try to push being vegan, she shows you how and when to eat for optimal health

I tried one recipe from Clean Food so far. Strawberry Spinach Salad with sunflower seeds. The dressing was amazing! By far the best spinach salad I’ve had !

I’ve been trying to eat when little miss Callie eats, because if not she’s barking her head off or looking at me like this.

We’ve been giving her mushrooms as treats, she just loves them ! We taught her to wait until we say ok to eat the mushrooms. She was just going crazy that day, she didn’t know which mushroom piece to eat first ! Haha

Well I’m off to the gym for a quick workout ! I’m going to try to attempt a 3 mile run ! Have a good night guys ! <3

Music Monday : What I’m addicted to

Hi loves <3

Hope your Monday was great ! I was soo glad to have a long weekend. I enjoyed it to the fullest. Today I cooked and cleaned most of the day. I woke up with a torticollis that actually made me feel like I was going to be sick all day ! So I took it easy and relaxed to try to get rid of the pain.

I also didn’t end up going for a jog, which I’m kinda bummed about ! There’s always tomorrow right ? Since this long awesome weekend is over, I feel like going to the gym instead of running outside tomorrow morning! So we’ll see what actually happens ! Smile

Since it’s music Monday, I decided to keep it simple and show you guys a couple of songs that I just cannot stop listening too ! Especially the first one, I just LOVE the song and the video !! So inspiring Smile

Speaking of Channing Tatum have you guys watched 21 Jump Street ?? I watched it Saturday and I could not stop laughing !! I just loved it ! If you haven’t seen it yet, go see it now !! Smile
Any songs you guys are just addicted to these days ?

It’s been a while !

Hi guys !!

It feels good to blog again ! <3

So much new things have been going on in the past two months that I can’t wait any longer to share with you guys !! Smile

First and foremost, I want to let you know why I stopped blogging in the first place. Two months ago I was stuck in this stressful position and I had no idea what to do. I was offered a great job opportunity while I was already working somewhere I really liked. It all happened to fast, but in the end I decided to quit the job I was at, to try out this new job opportunity. Thankfully I love it !! I met some great people and I just love the atmosphere.

So after that was settled, I felt better about everything here. For the past year it’s been hard adjusting to living far from your family and friends, not knowing anyone, not having a steady job, but now I feel a lot better about moving here. Still, I felt like something was missing.

Then, we got this little sunshine <3 We named her Callie ! Smile

We got her when she was only 8 weeks old. There was a lot of sleepless nights let me tell ya ! It’s been two months now and she’s doing great! Minus the biting !! Haha

With a puppy that needs to eat at 6 am sharp, I have no excuses not to wake up ! Now I usually wake up feed her, go for a walk, and slowly get ready for work ! It’s been so much better that waking up 15 minutes before work and rushing there. (I’ve been doing that since I was fifteen, bad habits are hard to change sometimes !! )

With that also came more running and walking !! Smile It’s been sooo nice out !

Annnd since I’ve been running more, I registered for my first 5K with this kid on my birthday !! Open-mouthed smile I can’t wait! I also want to do either a 5k or 10k at the end of the summer also !

Oh and I changed the Mostly Fitness page ! Hope you guys like it, eventually I would LOVE to work with Cassie ! Her work is amazing, but in the meantime this will do ! Smile
